Scott Ribble aka Ribbs joins the show. He's a long-standing member at Assiniboine Golf Club and Mundie Putter regular. He also relearned the game of golf after battling addiction. He’s been clean and sober for over two years now and we appreciate him taking the time to share his story.
We get into how he got into golf, caddying for a Manitoba Amateur winner, playing against Aaron Cockerill, his junior hockey career, two MJHL Championships, his addiction low point, how he built himself back up, relearned the game of golf, competitions he plays in now, his family, and much more. Shawn Major – Niakwa’s Superintendent joins the show. He’s also one of the few accredited golf course superintendents working in the province. He’s spent time out West and out East, but calls Winnipeg home. He’s also a pretty good golfer.
Shawn fills us in on how he set up Niakwa for the Men’s Mid-Am and Women’s Amateur this year, a day in his life, prepping the course for LPGA and PGA tournaments, getting up early, playing in the Canadian Superintendent's tourney, building a course, installing new greens, and so much more. Enjoy!
